2008 Cowhouse Pinot Noir Tasting Notes
Named after Argyle’s longtime Vineyard Manager, Allen HOLSTEIN, this 2008 Cowhouse Pinot Noir from the Holstein Vineyard is an equal blend of the 667 and 777 clones. Opening with a beautifully pure, clean nose of raspberries and wild flowers this wine epitomizes purity and grace. There are very few wines that conjure up such “prettiness” while still possessing this level of wonderful fruit density. Gushing with high toned Rainier cherry, it leans on a core of clean stony minerality and Argyle’s trademark silky tannins that harmonize with hints of pie spice and light vanilla notes. A beautiful example of a wine showing the softer side of Pinot Noir.
