2008 Spirithouse Pinot Noir Magnum (1.5L)

There was a lot of buzz about the greatness of the Oregon 2008 vintage, and this wine is the proverbial proof in the pudding. This youthful wine slowly opens in the glass, first showing off rich spice, delicate oak, and cigar box, then unwinding to let lush dark Bing cherry come to the forefront. On the palate, this wine is like drinking velvet—soft, rich, and luxurious. Flavors reminiscent of red current jam, fresh picked Damson plum, warm forest berry cobbler with a dollop of vanilla bean, and light brushed-leather notes. With so many nuances combined with a clean streak of acidity, this is a wine that will reward for years and years to come.

2010 Nuthouse Chardonnay Magnum (1.5L)

The 2010 Nuthouse Chardonnay embodies an old-world elegance. It pulls you in with complexity and nuance, with a nose of toasted hazelnuts, rock melon, and flinty gunpowder notes. The nose doesn’t quite prepare the drinker for the bright crispness of the palate, refreshing and clean. Flavors of quince, lemon custard, and a zest of minerality akin to wet limestone holds the acidity on the finish of the palate. Its this cool-climate acidity that makes this wine a perfect companion at the dinner table. While fresh and enticing now, this wine promises to build mid-palate richness with time in the bottle to yield a truly sublime experience.

2014 Nuthouse Riesling Magnum (1.5L)

Lone Star Vineyard has three separate blocks of Riesling totalling just under seven acres of fruit, which amounts to less than 2% of our overall farming. Winemaking and blending is all about creating options and tools, so we have taken these three tiny blocks and divided them up into both stainless steel and neutral oak barrel fermentations to give us more tools to play with. The stainless steel versions are left with a hint of residual sugar, which emphasize fresh, pure, round fruit, while the neutral oak barrels are taken bone dry to bring the dichotomic elements of both mineral edge and subtle, creamy texture. Left on original lees for 16 months, we have continued to push the boundaries of texture in cool climate Riesling. White peach, orange blossom, and silvery minerality dance with pulsing, vibraceous length. Break out the Pepito de Ternera!

2012 Argyle Brut Rosé Magnum (1.5L)

At the top of Knudsen Vineyards in the Dundee Hills, at 950 feet of elevation, is where you'll find our 2.5 acre planting of Pinot Meunier. We take advantage of the late ripening spot to retain bright, fresh acidity and mineral edge. The balance of the wine is equally blended between the aforementioned Knudsen Vineyard and our younger, but equally high elevation Spirit Hill Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. The color is bright, pale salmon pink, while its bouquet is full of rose petal, cherry kernel, and pomegranate. The barrel aging of the red wine component contributes to its savory complexity, while its delicate, creamy bead leads to a long textural finish.

2009 Reserve Pinot Noir Magnum (1.5L)

To coin a popular phrase, this is not your Mother’s Reserve Pinot Noir! The wine has quiet power, yet voluptuous, sensuous fruit. The aromas offer spice of sandalwood, cedar box, and incense imbricated with lovely red and Bing cherry fruit, with a hint of moss on rock earthiness. The flavors bring out more red than black fruits which is characteristic of our Reserve vine blocks that make this wine label. The texture is super rich with surprising amounts of red cherry and cherry wood spice. This wine and the 2009 vintage are opulent enough to please the most discerning Sybarite!

2012 Argyle Vintage Brut Magnum (1.5L)

In the Willamette Valley, 2012 was a season of generosity, without sacrificing focus. In order to retain precision, 90% of the blend was fermented in stainless steel and only 10% fermented in neutral oak barrels, while none of the base wine parcels underwent malolactic fermentation. Yellow summer fruits, baked apple, and ginger spice up front, the mid-palate is creamy, concentrated and fleshy. The long finish is enlivened by mouth-filling volcanic structure and lively acidity.
