Oregon Chardonnay Alliance & Oregon Pinot Camp
Posted on June 28, 2009
Argyle Winery hosted the Oregon Chardonnay Alliance event and the kickoff of the Oregon Pinot Camp adventure. Over 100 people from top restaurants, wine merchants, press and more joined in the fun.
Here we see Rollin Soles, Argyle’s founder & winemaker, getting ready to pour some amazing 1992 Argyle Chardonnay from a Jeroboam – a 5 litre bottle of wine equal to about 7 standard bottles. (Small trivia fact: large bottles of wine like the Joroboam age quite differently than smaller wine bottles.)

Lots of folks gathering for wine tastings from top Chardonnay producers in the Willamette Valley region.

Winemakers from several wineries were available to answer questions about their wines and winemaking processes.

A feast of chilled crab added to the day’s fun.

The festivities continued with the Oregon Pinot Camp kickoff across the street at Ponzi, followed by exciting games of Pinot Pong (ping pong + Pinot Noir) on Argyle’s crush pad.
