“A Sense of Place”
In the Argyle Gallery, June 4-July 15
In Waterstone Gallery’s exhibition, A Sense of Place, the artists celebrate our connection to place. Certain places hold special meaning to each of us – whether geographic, emotional or spiritual. Depending on the subject matter, the imagery presented ranges from representational to pure abstraction. Each artwork reflects the interests and persona of the artist who created it. The media each artist works with often is chosen to enhance the concepts and sensibilities they are exploring in their work. >> Art: Shu-Ju Wang
Opera a la Cart
July 20, 2-4pm
Inspired by Portland’s food cart culture, Opera a la Cart is Portland Opera’s mobile performance venue that brings opera directly to the community in pop-up performances. Designed and built by architecture students at Portland State University, the cart features a fold-out stage and a “menu” of operatic specials du jour. Charismatic young singers perform arias, duets, and ensemble pieces. Enjoy as you sip wine on our outdoor patio.
Art in the Garden
July 21, 10-4pm
We are excited to invite you to join us for our “Art in the Garden” event inviting any and all local artists (painters, photographers, and all media art makers) to our Dundee garden, located outside of the Argyle Tasting House, for a celebration of the arts. Artists are invited to bring your own mediums and supplies to set up throughout our garden to create plein air paintings, photographs, drawings, multi-media art, or whatever inspires you from our garden.
