Your 2023 May Wine Club Shipment

Argyle Icons and Brand New Offerings

The Eola-Amity Hills AVA is an exciting area to grow wines. That is why we developed two vineyards, Lone Star and Spirit Hill, in this AVA. Located just miles apart, these vineyards have a rich history in both their geologic aspect and with Argyle’s development.

Lone Star’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines are often used for vineyard-designated wines and have long contributed to our iconic Nuthouse wines. And Spirit Hill vineyard has long been a beautiful vineyard designated offering. But this year, we found a new side of both Spirit Hill and Lone Star vineyards!

At Lone Star, we’ve singled out Block 18 for its own bottling, from a unique gem of a Pinot Noir block surrounded by Chardonnay. And at Spirit Hill Vineyard, winemaker Nate’s curiosity to explore a new sparkling wine resulted in the creation of our new Spirit Hill Vineyard Blanc de Noirs. This harmonious blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is lively with spunk, character, and a rich density that pairs well with a summer weekend.

We hope you enjoy your May club selections and can’t wait to see you at our next member event!

2019 Knudsen Vineyard Brut

The distinctive parcel of Pinot Noir that is the source for our Knudsen Vineyard Brut was planted in 1974, at an elevation of 900 feet. These own-rooted, high-elevation Pommard Clone vines express incredible density, complexity, and elegance. Fermenting and aging in neutral wood barrels helped to build layers of creamy complexity, showcasing layers of grapefruit, orange peel, and white pepper that glide to a long, silky finish.

With the majority of this vintage’s chardonnay being from our Lonestar Vineyard, the aromas of lemon verbena, slate and allspice are pronounced and forthcoming.
