We Want Your Wine to Reach you Safely
Wine is a perishable item, and extreme heat or cold can adversely affect it during transit – either via its route or at your destination. Typically, boxes of wine sent by ground service will travel on trucks not outfitted with temperature controls in the cargo areas, and the extended hot/cold effects can damage your wine. This is unacceptable to us (you’ll probably agree), so we take measures to prevent temperature-related damage. Argyle is careful to hold ground shipments when necessary to protect your wine. When the weather allows and we are able to ship via ground, you will receive an email with your tracking details.
If your order is time-sensitive, we suggest selecting a 2-day or overnight option. (Please add a note in your order at checkout with any further details or requests.) These orders will ship promptly. We also offer a Temperature Controlled shipping option – please see details below.
Overnight & 2-Day Shipping
Due to specific pick-up schedules at Argyle, orders that include Overnight or 2-Day shipping options will go out the same day if placed by 11:00am PST. Overnight and 2-Day orders placed after 11:00am PST will be shipped the following business day. Please note that 2-day and Overnight orders are based on weekday delivery. (i.e. a 2-Day order placed on Thursday by 11:00am will be delivered on Monday.)
Temperature Controlled Shipping
For a 5% surcharge over ground shipping rates, your wine can be shipped during weather extremes via Temperature Controlled Shipping. Your wine is shipped in temperature controlled vehicles to hubs across the nation, and then delivered from there via local UPS couriers. (Note: local delivery trucks are not temperature controlled, but packages are typically delivered the same day they are picked up from the hubs.)
Temperature Controlled Shipping takes approx. 2-3 weeks. Please note that due to limitations in tracking technology, the initial email notice you receive may not guarantee that your package has shipped yet, but has been processed. Be careful to watch for subsequent emails with updated delivery information.
Temperature Controlled Shipping is available to all states except Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about shipping, please email us or call 503-538-8520 (9-5 PST, M-F) and we’ll do our best to get your wine to you safely and as quickly as possible!
