2025 PNCA Artist Bios

Created by Argyle Winery to support the talents of student artists, the Art of Sparkling program is a unique collaboration with the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA). Each year, three PNCA student artists are selected to receive the Argyle scholarship. The students then immerse themselves in the Argyle story by visiting the vineyards, winery and Tasting House. This experience serves as inspiration for their artwork. The three pieces of art are then turned into labels for the Art of Sparkling 3-bottle set.

Jerilyn Gallardo

Jerilyn Gallardo is a visual artist born and raised in Hawaii. Jerilyn’s work centers on cultural identity and native experiences. Her art practice is grounded in multicultural nuances and driven by a commitment to building bridges between communities.

“Rainbow Energy”

Inspired by the Argyle vineyards, Rainbow Energy embodies the necessity for reciprocal care in partnership and community building. By using the symbol of a rainbow, Jerilyn creates a sense of shared energy emphasizing the beauty of interconnectedness.

Hawk Ferdig

Hawk Ferdig is a multimedia artist. Much of her work explores the somatic-material relationship central to her trans identity and sexuality. In many ways, trans people are dependent upon materials to interact with the world around them. Her work channels these complexities.

“Frye”

Frye is the culmination and continuation of a painting series that began as a simple exploration of material and has turned into a deeply impactful and spiritual practice. The final work reflects the deeply personal chanelling of raw materials through the constraints of time, materials and the hand of the maker.

Finn Gibson

Finn Gibson is an animation artist from New York.  His work is largely centered around the macabre and humor.  He strives to leave his audiences deeply disturbed but slightly amused OR deeply amused but slightly disturbed. He considers either one a win.

“Fungal Veritas”

In Fungal Veritas, the clover and mycelial networks represent the cultivation of nitrogen-fixing ecosystems in the vineyard. The all-powerful warrior god represents the arcane, uncanny truth that dwells within all plants. A grape has 65% more chromosones than a human, 66 million years of existence to our 50,000. What are they if not true, living eldritch beings?
