About Argyle
Whether celebrating a life moment, big or small, or discovering Oregon’s vibrant wine culture, you can always start with Argyle.
We’ve been making sparkling wine in the Willamette Valley since 1987—long before it was a movement. When asked whether we’d focus on sparkling or still wines, our answer was simple: why not both? Argyle remains the only winery in the world to be named to Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list for Sparkling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Located in the heart of downtown Dundee, Oregon, our Tasting House is your gateway to Oregon wine country. Make us your first stop—and let the experience unfold from there.
While many journeys with Oregon wine begin at Argyle, our story starts in the vineyard. All of our estate sites are LIVE certified and regeneratively farmed, and our impact extends beyond the glass through lasting partnerships within our community.

Winemaking Philosophy
Winemaking at Argyle is a collaborative journey rooted in the rich tradition of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Our founder, Rollin Soles, was drawn to this region in 1979 by its pioneering spirit and the sense of community among winemakers. Now led by winemaker Kate Payne Brown and vineyard manager Erica Miller, Argyle focuses on innovation and precision. We craft each small lot to preserve the unique character of our estate fruit, creating wines that reflect the land and the people who cultivate it.

Sustainability
Since 1987, Argyle has led the way for American sparkling wine, proving that Oregon’s Willamette Valley is ideal for traditional method winemaking. Our pioneering spirit, dedication to precision, and commitment to extended aging continue to shape the future of U.S. sparkling wine today.
Our Sustainable Home: The Argyle Tasting House, constructed using repurposed materials, reflects our commitment to sustainability in both design and function.
LIVE Certification: As early adopters of sustainable viticulture, we were among the first in Oregon to earn LIVE certification, underscoring our dedication to rigorous environmental standards.
Clean Wind Initiative: Through our participation in PGE’s Clean Wind program, we actively reduce carbon emissions and support renewable energy efforts.

Celebrating the Arts
Art has always been at the heart of Argyle. From our vibrant labels to our ongoing collaborations, we believe creativity deserves a place at every table. Our longstanding support for the arts is reflected in partnerships with Oregon’s leading cultural institutions, connecting wine lovers with the region’s rich creative community. Whether through exhibits, performances, or artist-driven projects, we’re proud to champion the people and organizations who make the Willamette Valley—and beyond—more beautiful, expressive, and alive.

Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA)
Through the Argyle Scholarship, we support emerging artists who create works inspired by our winery and the Willamette Valley. These pieces are proudly featured on our ‘The Art of Sparkling’ wine series.

PDX Jazz
Our collaboration with PDX Jazz fosters the growth of jazz culture in Portland, bringing music and education to audiences across the region.

Portland Opera
As the Official Sparkling Wine of Portland Opera, Argyle champions high-quality productions that engage and uplift the community, ensuring the continued vibrancy of the performing arts in Oregon.

Ojo Brilloso: Pinot Noir with Perspective
At Argyle, great wine starts with great observation. Ojo Brilloso—Spanish for “shiny eye” or “nice observation”—is more than a phrase; it’s a philosophy that reflects the care, intuition, and deep knowledge our vineyard team brings to the land every day.
Launched in 2021, the Ojo Brilloso program celebrates the extraordinary people who farm Argyle’s estate vineyards. Each year, our Vineyard Supervisors are invited to select a small block of Pinot Noir they feel especially connected to—blocks they’ve nurtured and know intimately. These limited wines offer a window into the diverse terroir of our Willamette Valley vineyards, shaped by the hands and hearts of those who know them best.
The program also supports our broader commitment to equity and opportunity in the wine industry, with a portion of proceeds benefiting organizations like ¡Salud!, AHIVOY, and The Roots Fund. Through Ojo Brilloso, we’re proud to honor both people and place—one vintage at a time.

Vineyards
The vineyards of Argyle are where our story begins. Located in the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills, these sites have been meticulously managed to produce wines that truly express the character of the land.
- Knudsen Vineyard: A cornerstone of our winemaking since 1987, Knudsen Vineyard is essential to our finest Pinot Noirs and sparkling wines.
- Lone Star Vineyard: Known for its warm climate, Lone Star Vineyard produces bold, flavorful Pinot Noirs and Rieslings that highlight the distinct terroir of the Eola-Amity Hills.
- Spirit Hill Vineyard: High elevation and cooling winds shape Spirit Hill Vineyard, resulting in wines with remarkable depth and complexity.
- Giving Tree Vineyard: This vineyard embodies our values of sustainability and community, producing age-worthy wines while fostering a spirit of generosity and stewardship.
